Events in October

Oct 05, 2017

We will kickstart this thrilling month with our 10th Niseko Halloween! This event is happening on October 8, 2017, at the Chuo Soukogun Complex. It will start at ten in the morning with the following activities: Trick or Treat Trail and Costume Contest Reception, the actual Costume Contest and then finally, the Lucky draw which will end at around three in the afternoon. This Halloween event is a great way to facilitate exchange between locals and visitors and hopefully build a good and long-lasting relationship among them.

Another enjoyable event you can look forward to this coming month in Niseko is the Kutchan Konpira Matsuri 2017. This is a three-day festival that celebrates the beginning of autumn and serves as a preparation for the coming winter season. Both locals and tourists are welcome to join the festival at the Konpira Temple and Downtown Kutchan on October 9-11, 2017.

So what makes this festival interesting? On its second day, a massive bonfire is produced in front of the temple and you will witness monks walking across its burning embers! This ritual signifies the purification of their bodies and spirits.

Furthermore, if you’re a food lover, you will surely enjoy this event as it will be filled with a variety of food stalls and will also involve lots of festival games.
